I think I have most, if not all of the Mountain Goats albums. The Sunset Tree is my favorite, but they're all good.
Rural Alberta Advantage is also totally fricking awesome. Did they put out a second album, or are you listening to the first one?
Have you ever listened to WHY? Check this song out, and then track the album down. They're not like the Goats (there is actually only one goat in the band I believe) or RAA, but it is still awesome, awesome stuff.
The RAA have a new album out as of March 1st; it debuted in the Billboard top 200, so good for them. The new album is GREAT, though not as fantastic as the first. I saw them play live two weeks ago in Atlanta...F'ing great show; their drummer is amazing! I might blog about it.
I saw WHY? open for the Silver Jews in Madison Wisconsin in 2006. They put on a great show. I bought their EP back then but haven't kept up...I'll give them another try...thanks.
